Introducing the least technical person in 404 – me!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Jo and I am, truthfully, the least technical person in the team.

I have no technical background but one of my roles as Office Manager made me responsible for IT. I have to say that if there is one thing that gave me frustration, it was IT. I also found it sleep-inducingly boring – the one meeting I ever fell asleep at was with an IT provider.

The other gripe was that IT spending was always way over the budget. Every time. There were always unforeseens. New PCs for new users, new licences, upgrades, new server, more licenses, antivirus, running out of support credits…

And then, the unintelligible bills. What on Earth had we been charged for? They seemed to be written in code.

So when a business venture came along, and it was in IT, I felt like “Let me at it!”

Before I even knew what a virtual desktop was, my vision was to change this negative experience that I know is familiar to lots of businesses, and in its place bring clarity, simplicity and budget- ability.

So we’ve taken great care over everything, from the website to the billing, from the service desk to the contracts, to deliver this to our customers.
